Adam grew up in the blue-collar Midwest. To this day, he credits his intense work ethic to his growing up around so many working-class folks in farm country. In the months following the events of 9/11, he moved to Tennessee. “It’s incredible how quickly East Tennessee just felt like Home to my family and me.”
He earned his undergraduate degree from Millikin University in 1998 and his MBA in Organizational Leadership from Lipscomb University with a 4.0 GPA. He has worked in the insurance/finance industry 24 years and has specialized in the Medicare Insurance industry since 2013. Adam made quite a reputation for himself as the top agent in Tennessee for several years at Humana, earning “President’s Club” 4 times. He accepted the position as Senior MarketPOINT Manager leading Knoxville and East Tennessee and ranking in the top 3 managers in the Southeast Region each year. “While we work with multiple companies, I do have a special relationship with the professionals at Humana Medicare. I am grateful to have learned and served with the finest folks in the industry here in East Tennessee.”
Adam lives in Farragut, TN with his wife Diane and their three daughters. He enjoys supporting their love of school, soccer, orchestra, dance and American Heritage Girls. Along with their two dogs and two cats, they have a packed home. The family enjoys travel and hosting family & friends whenever possible. Adam is known to say, “Illinois by birth, Tennessee by choice!” After 20 years enjoying this wonderful state, it’s people and lifestyle…Tennessee is the Sursa Family’s HOME!
Growing up in a small town in rural Georgia alongside his parents, Ryan developed the strong values that continue to guide his life and career. Summer jobs on farms and in grocery stores — and, most importantly, helping his parents in the insurance business — laid the foundation for what would become a lifelong commitment to serving others. In some capacity, Ryan has been in the industry since he was 11 years old, and now, with nearly three decades as a licensed professional, he has built a deep understanding of clients’ needs, wants, behaviors, and financial decisions — both successful and not-so-successful.
After earning his bachelor’s degree, Ryan spent 25 years in progressively senior leadership roles with Aon, J.P. Morgan, Humana, and CVS/Aetna. These years provided him with a broad knowledge of senior-focused insurance products like Medicare, as well as experience in investment advisory and private banking.
Recognized year after year with top agent and leadership awards, Ryan has helped tens of thousands of clients and agents alike. In September 2021, he drew on this extensive experience to co-found Tri Star Advisors and Tri Star Insurance Management Group — with the goal of offering personal, trusted guidance in insurance and financial matters.
When he isn’t working, Ryan enjoys cruising with his amazing wife. And if you ask, he’ll gladly share a story — and plenty of photos — of their Great Dane, "Major", who has a larger-than-life personality of his own.
